Network Engineer (Cisco)Location: Tulsa, OklahomaJob Description: The Network Engineer is responsible for the design, deployment, administration, security, and ongoing support of the organization's network and IT infrastructure. Working under the direction of the IT Infrastructure Manager, this role supports enterprise connectivity, data center and server infrastructure, telecommunications, network security, wireless environments, monitoring systems, and related technologies. The Network Engineer plays a key role in maintaining reliable, secure, and highly available IT services across all organizational locations. This includes identifying infrastructure issues, implementing improvements, supporting technology upgrades, and helping ensure business-critical systems remain operational.Essential Responsibilities:Network Infrastructure: Administer and support enterprise LAN and WAN environments across multiple locations.Network Security: Administer and maintain network security technologies including Cisco Firepower and ASA firewalls.Voice & Communications: Administer and support VoIP phone systems and Cisco Call Manager.Remote Access & Network Services: Configure and maintain remote-access solutions, including Cisco AnyConnect VPN.Infrastructure Operations & Support: Serve as a technical lead for complex troubleshooting, system backups, and disaster recovery activities.Required / Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline preferred. Minimum of three years of professional experience supporting LAN, WAN, and enterprise network environments. Cisco CCNA and/or CCNP certification preferred. Demonstrated experience working with Cisco switches, routers, wireless infrastructure, and VoIP technologies. Previous experience in a casino or gaming environment is preferred.Technical Knowledge & Skills: The successful candidate should possess strong working knowledge of Cisco networking technologies, LAN/WAN architecture, Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching, IP addressing and subnetting, Ethernet technologies, IP routing protocols, wireless networking, Cisco WLC and AP infrastructure, Cisco routers and switches, Cisco Firepower, Cisco ASA, Cisco ISE, Network ACLs, Cisco Web Security Appliance, Cisco Duo 2FA, VPN technologies, including Cisco AnyConnect and site-to-site VPN, DNS and DHCP, VoIP and Cisco Call Manager, Cisco Unity, Cisco UCCX Emergency Responder, network monitoring and management tools, server and appliance infrastructure, backup and disaster recovery technologies, network security principles, technologies, and best practices.Core Competencies: Strong network troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities across networking, telecommunications, hardware, and infrastructure platforms. Ability to analyze network architecture and determine reliable, scalable, and cost-effective solutions. Ability to design, install, configure, upgrade, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure. Understanding of the OSI model, Ethernet, switching, routing, wireless networking, firewalls, and network communications. Ability to develop network diagrams and maintain detailed technical documentation. Ability to participate in network architecture and infrastructure design sessions. Ability to develop and execute testing scenarios for network, communication, and infrastructure components. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple technically complex projects simultaneously. Strong organizational, documentation, and project coordination skills. Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across a diverse organization. Ability to research emerging technologies and make recommendations regarding infrastructure improvements. Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a technical team. Ability to travel when necessary.Communication Expectations: Stay informed of organizational announcements, policies, and internal communications. Clearly communicate technical information, project updates, decisions, and relevant changes to appropriate personnel. Explain technical concepts and the rationale behind infrastructure decisions to stakeholders and non-technical employees when appropriate. Maintain effective communication with IT team members, vendors, contractors, and other departments.Customer / Guest Service: Provide professional, responsive, and courteous service to internal and external customers. Approach technical support and infrastructure issues with a customer-service mindset.Physical Requirements: Ability to remain seated and work at a computer for extended periods, potentially up to eight hours per day. Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch when performing installation, maintenance, or troubleshooting activities. Ability to use hands and fingers for computer, equipment, and cabling-related tasks. Ability to reach overhead and lift or handle equipment as required. Normal hearing and the ability to communicate effectively verbally. Ability to lift, push, or pull equipment weighing approximately 15 pounds or more, as required by the job.Work Environment: Work is performed primarily in an office, IT infrastructure, and casino environment. Position may involve exposure to elevated noise levels and secondhand smoke depending on work location. May require evening, weekend, holiday, extended, or irregular work hours to support critical infrastructure, maintenance activities, or operational requirements. Participation in an on-call rotation is required.
