Field Service Technician

JOB SUMMARY: This position will require frequent travel to Ohio CAT and customer locations. A willingness to study and learn new skills and technical information related to the job is required. Field Servicemen troubleshoot and safely repair general heavy equipment drive‑train components, electrical and hydraulic systems , a nd sta n d a rd machine repair s . You will work from an Ohio CAT service truck in the natural elements. COMPETENCIES: General technical service skills, mechanical aptitude, or experience with construction or heavy equipment , an d strong DC electrical and machine electronic systems knowledge are r eq ui red . Must demonstrate the ability to follow technical material and apply processes and procedures as necessary to complete manufacturers’ updates. Must be organized, self‑motivated, and able to work without direct supervision —e xcellent verbal and written communication skills required. Strong computer and software skills are required . JOB QUALIFICATIONS : High school graduate minimum, College and continued education in a technical field are a plus. Experience related to construction or heavy equipment service and repair is required. Valid Commercial Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record foll owi ng Ohio CAT standards (4 or fewer moving violation points). PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Lifting/Carrying 40 lb. Lift/Carry and 50lb pulling Standing/Sitting Up and down stairs, standing, sitting, and climbing into machines Dexterity Normal Repetitive Motions: Frequent movements requiring the use of hands, wrists , and fingers. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
