Sea West Enterprises, Inc. is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Superintendent to join our commercial construction team. This is a hands-on field position supporting the Superintendent in the day-to-day management and coordination of commercial construction projects.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, safety-minded, and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their field leadership skills and advance toward a Superintendent role.

Position Responsibilities

• Assist the Superintendent with the daily management and coordination of commercial construction projects.
• Help coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and field personnel.
• Monitor daily construction activities to ensure work is being performed according to plans, specifications, schedules, and quality standards.
• Assist with project scheduling, sequencing, and coordination of upcoming work.
• Conduct regular site walks and monitor jobsite progress.
• Assist with layout, material coordination, deliveries, and site logistics.
• Review plans, specifications, and project documents to identify potential issues or conflicts.
• Assist in coordinating inspections and ensuring required inspections are completed.
• Monitor subcontractor work for quality, progress, and compliance with project requirements.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized jobsite.
• Enforce company and project safety requirements and report unsafe conditions.
• Assist with daily reports, project documentation, photographs, schedules, and other required records.
• Communicate project status, delays, material needs, and field issues to the Superintendent and Project Manager.
• Assist in identifying and resolving field conflicts and construction issues.
• Attend subcontractor and project coordination meetings as requested.
• Assist with punch lists, closeout activities, and completion of outstanding work.
• Support the Superintendent and Project Manager as needed to successfully complete the project.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of commercial construction field experience required.
• Working knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, and sequencing.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and details.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors and activities simultaneously.
• Ability to identify problems and work toward practical solutions.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction management software is a plus.
• Ability to work independently while taking direction from the Superintendent and Project Manager.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors and remain on an active construction site for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, carry, climb, bend, walk, and stand as required in a construction environment.
