Openings as of 7/7/2026 Job Title Speech Language Pathologist – Early Childhood Special Education 1.0 FTE (Long Term Substitute, 8/24/26 through 1/10/27) Job Summary Develop instructional materials and lesson plans; conduct instruction and regularly evaluate instructional materials for grade appropriateness; assess student development and performance; and collaborate with parents or guardians and students to ensure clear understanding of progress and challenges. Qualifications Speech Pathologist licensure issued by the State of Minnesota (CCC’s preferred). Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an education discipline applicable to the teaching assignment. Master's degree preferred. Salary/Wage Information Salary range as per the SCEA Master Contract: $55,880 – $105,432 (based on 1.0 FTE). Includes a generous medical, dental, vision, life, and long‑term disability insurance plan and a 3.75% 403(b) employer match. Duties and Responsibilities Design and implement instructional plans aligned with district standards and curriculum, tailored to the unique needs of assigned students. Review, select, and modify materials and resources to carry out the curriculum plan. Accommodate the delivery of instruction and assessment to align with each student’s learning strengths and challenges. Instruct students using best teaching practices consistently. Coordinate instruction and related services in the student’s IEP and serve as the primary contact for parents. Develop annual education plans (IEP) including present levels of performance, educational needs, goals, objectives, and general and special educational services. Assure compliance with procedural requirements and communicate across home, school, and associated agencies, including scheduling and facilitating team meetings. Coordinate due‑process procedures according to TSES (Total Special Education System). Maintain required records and data in accordance with policies and procedures, ensuring accurate and timely availability of information. Establish and sustain positive, mutually respectful relationships with students in all settings. Participate actively in site educational and related programming to provide a broad‑based experience for students. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with support services staff, outside vendors, and other resources to meet student needs. Collaborate with colleges and universities to provide practice teachers and education program candidates with meaningful learning experiences. Assess and evaluate outcomes of current teaching practices to inform ongoing instructional planning; determine student progress, grading, and reporting; and reinforce student contributions. Conduct and/or facilitate special‑education initial and three‑year re‑evaluations. Assess and evaluate one's own professional development needs and plan strategies to address them. Perform other job‑related duties as requested or assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Formal preparation and appropriate licensure for the area(s) taught. High qualifications in academic instruction. Knowledge of current curriculum and instruction practices for relevant levels and subject areas and ability to develop timely, comprehensive plans. Make design, content, and delivery decisions considering student abilities and needs, complementing graduation standards. Knowledge of special‑education due‑process rules and procedures. Ability to select objectives at appropriate difficulty levels and teach to those objectives. Knowledge of child growth, development, and learning patterns to monitor and adjust instruction. Develop instructional strategies that maximize student involvement and participation. Provide an honest, respectful, caring and safe learning environment. Communicate behavior, learning, and interaction expectations fostering mutual respect, accountability, and cooperation. Facilitate alternative dispute resolution procedures when appropriate. Maintain confidentiality and comply with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, protocols, and procedures. Develop recommendations to advance educational and developmental missions of the site and district. Identify appropriate resources inside and outside the district. Utilize special‑education procedures and assessment tools.
