Job Title : Lab Technician Location : Rocky Hill, CT Work Model : Onsite Hours : M-F 8am-5pm Compensation : $20.00 - $25.00/hr Type : 12-month contract, Potential for extension or conversion to permanent Responsibilities
- Prepare and test adhesive formulations in accordance with established guidelines, working independently or in collaboration with chemists, scientists and technical staff.
- Accurately document test data in laboratory information systems. Communicates basic observations regarding data and/or experimental outcomes.
- Read and follow work instructions and safety data sheets (SDS) related to sample preparation, formulating adhesives and sample testing.
- Employ basic problem-solving skills to overcome project bottlenecks and maintain project deliverable dates.
- Maintain a clean, organized laboratory environment and support safe work practices, including the use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), adherence to site safety practices, use of laboratory equipment, 5S, et
- Utilize various computer systems to perform work and write internal and external final test reports.
- Use a variety of curing and dispensing equipment.
- Maintain calibration of laboratory instruments regularly to ensure reliability
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- Minimum of an Associate's degree in Chemistry, material science or a related science field
- Ability to gather, understand, and interpret chemical, physical and mechanical data
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other team members in product development programs
