Patient Population & Clinical Exposure
Emergency Department

Provide respiratory care for a diverse Level II Trauma ED population, including:

• Chest pain and cardiac events
• Stroke patients
• Trauma cases:
  
  • Gunshot wounds
  • Stabbings
  • Motor vehicle accidents
  • Falls
• Respiratory illnesses
• Seizures
• Abdominal infections/illnesses
• ETOH/CIWA
• IV drug abuse
• Mental health patients

Medical-Surgical Units
3 Med/Surg - 27 Beds

• Overflow and difficult-to-place patients
• Vascular dementia
• Cerebrovascular disease
• CVA history

3 North Oncology - 20 Beds

• Immunocompromised patients
• Cancer patients
• Palliative and end-of-life care

4 East Ortho - 16 Beds

• Orthopedic trauma and surgical patients

4 South - 36 Beds

• General surgery and trauma patients

4 Central Pulmonology - 22 Beds

• Acute respiratory failure
• COPD
• Pneumonia
• Sepsis
• AKI
• Dementia
• Failure to thrive
• Metabolic encephalopathy

6 Central - 19 Beds

• Vascular and bariatric surgery patients

Critical Care Areas
4 West - Neurology Stepdown (23 Beds)
5 West - Cardiac Stepdown (34 Beds)
Observation Unit - 11 Beds
ICU - 26 Beds

Combined Medical, Surgical, Neuro, and Cardiac ICU

Required Qualifications
Licensure & Certifications

• RRT required
• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS

Required Skills

• Mechanical ventilator management
• Therapist-driven protocols
• Intubation experience preferred
