Department & Position Department: AMG Specialist Group: ED Mount Pleasant - Emergency Medicine Job Type: Full time Schedule: 7 scheduled shifts per pay period (10‑hour weekdays, 12‑hour weekends, including holiday rotations) Hours per Week: 40 Responsibilities Assess, diagnose, and manage treatment plans for patients of all ages, considering acuity, clinical condition, and evidence‑based care. Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies; prescribe pharmacologic and non‑pharmacologic interventions. Provide health promotion, disease prevention, and patient/family counseling. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and seek physician or other team consultation as appropriate. Escalate need for emergent or specialized care when necessary. Maintain accurate, concise, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record; submit professional services in compliance with coding and billing practices. Facilitate coordinated care and clear communication among all team members and community agencies. Perform office or hospital procedures within scope of specialty practice and granted privileges. Participate in quality‑safety initiatives, peer review, and organizational meetings. Educate and onboard new team members, students, and other health care professionals. Maintain standards of productivity, access, face‑to‑face time, and quality metrics. Qualifications Active PA license(s) in state(s) of practice and national board certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Active DEA registration; if practicing in Illinois, active Illinois Controlled Substance License. Required clinical certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, PALS, NRP (as required, within 6 months of hire). Bachelor’s Degree in Physician Assistant or related field. No prior experience required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities High level of clinical proficiency and excellent decision‑making skills. Ability to work independently and as an effective team member. Adaptability to evolving technology and proficiency with the electronic medical record. Excellent communication, collaboration, relationship‑building, organization, and prioritization skills. Physical Requirements Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and twist continuously during the workday. Functional speech, vision, touch, and hearing required. Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist; lift up to 20 lbs over head; carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance. Operate all equipment necessary for the job.
