CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. Responsible for preparation and presentation of foods for patients, visitors, and employees. Responsible for cleaning and proper use of equipment. Assists in preparing, delivering, and retrieving special functions and coffee requests. Attends all required safety training programs and can describe responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards. Coordinates standards of quality food handling with proper sanitation standards. Communicates with patients and clinical staff in a professional manner. Prepares meals, distributes trays to patients, collects and cleans meal trays.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to lift, push and pull 50 lbs

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Ability to effectively work in a noisy setting and under deadline pressures. Ability to stand for long periods of time. May encounter temperature variations. Work are may be hot, cold, and/or wet.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Demonstrates basic cooking skills. Demonstrates time management skills. Ability to perform basic record keeping. Ability to understand written and oral communication. Ability to communicate effectively.
