Position Location:

16875 W Ryerson Rd, New Berlin, WI 53151

Position Hours: 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM Monday - Friday

Position Wage: $20.34 - $29.21 per hour (including 13% shift differential)

Salaries are based on a number of factors, including the skills and experience of the candidates. It is common to be hired at the lower to middle end of a salary range and while it is possible to be hired at the higher end, it often requires unique circumstances, such as proven expertise.

Job Description: The Blast Operator is responsible for ensuring the blasting/Load Make-Up cell is running safely and efficiently. Responsibilities will include working in several different production areas and being adaptable to fulfill the needs of fellow team members. Inspecting equipment throughout the shop and promptly reporting any concerns to the shift supervisions will be crucial as well.

Job Duties amp; Responsibilities:

• Be knowledgeable in amp; enforce racking amp; loading procedures, tagging procedure, amp; lot control procedures

• Safe amp; efficient operations of all production equipment

• Prioritize processing based on schedule

• Perform inspection using correct methods

• Document amp; report any maintenance issues to shift foreman

• Monitor amp; program all furnaces to process correct parameters

• Understand the processing of all material within production areas

• Ensure plant organization and cleanliness

Minimum Requirements:

• This position must satisfy ITAR (DSP-5) compliance requirements; therefore, candidates must be a lawful permanent resident [8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20)] or a protected individual [8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)]. Employment of Foreign Persons(s) [22 CFR 120.63] will be contingent on receiving the DSP-5 license from the US State Department.
• All hires are contingent upon a 9-panel hair follicle drug test amp; background check.
• May be required to obtain and maintain forklift operation certification
• May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.

Physical amp; Mental Demands: The following physical and mental demands consist of but are not limited to the following:

• Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods in a non-climate controlled industrial environment
• Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions.
• Capable of lifting and carrying at least 25-pound objects throughout shift
• Must be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, humidity, etc.
• Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
• Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
• Must demonstrate the ability to perform fundamental mathematical skills and concepts (e.g. addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, percentages, and the basics of algebra and geometry).
• Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
• Ability to hear in person and via phone.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience: Prior factory work, blasting, or heat-treating experience preferred
