Job Title: Inventory Management Support B

Job Location: Stennis Space Center, MS

Job Schedule: 1st Shift 4/10: Employees work 10 hours per day, 4 days a week

Job Description:

Under general supervision and following established procedures, the Material Handler performs assignments related to receiving, pulling, packing, and shipping parts.

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for all computer input transactions to inventory records, including issues, miscellaneous receipts, return to stock, work in process transactions, transfers between contracts, cycle counts, audit trails, material to stock from inspection, etc.
• Responsible for all data input to purchase order receipts, which include checking packing lists against incoming freight, noting any discrepancies, working closely with Supply Chain and Material Management department on any problem, distribution of paperwork to the respective departments, filing and maintaining records.
• Perform record keeping duties.
• Load and unload materials.
• Perform physical counts of materials and generate periodic paperwork reflecting the status of inventories.
• Deliver packages received to the appropriate area or person.
• Help perform routing vehicle maintenance checks.
• Monitor conditions of stored materials regarding identification, stacking, orderliness, safety, and special requirements of individual materials.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Qualifications:

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years prior inventory control / material handling experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0-2 years of prior inventory control / material handling experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Experience working in an aerospace industry environment is highly desired.
• Experience in material management and inventory reconciliation strongly desired.
• Demonstrated experience performing all material control related activities: receiving, storing, issuing, and transporting materials.
• Computer proficiency with Oracle (Inventory Control or Material Workbench) or other inventory/warehouse software, bar coding and scanning is desired.
• Knowledge of material control functions and procedures.
• Experience in explosives handling, packaging and shipping is desired.
• Experience driving forklifts or other material handling equipment.
• Experience using common MS software (Excel, Power Point, Word).
• Good communication and team building skills.
