Outbound Supervisor

A leading multinational freight forwarding company located near Charlotte Douglas International Airport is seeking an experienced Outbound Supervisor to oversee daily outbound warehouse and freight operations. This position will lead warehouse associates, coordinate shipment activity, ensure freight moves accurately and efficiently, and maintain high standards for safety, customer service, and operational performance.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in freight forwarding, logistics, warehouse operations, shipping, inventory control, and team supervision, preferably in a high-volume airport or international logistics environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily outbound warehouse operations, including order fulfillment, freight staging, loading, and shipment processing.
• Lead, train, coach, and motivate warehouse and outbound team members.
• Coordinate the timely movement of domestic and international freight to meet customer and carrier deadlines.
• Monitor shipment accuracy, documentation, labeling, palletization, and freight readiness.
• Ensure outbound shipments are properly scanned, tracked, staged, and loaded.
• Coordinate with freight forwarding, transportation, customer service, and warehouse teams to resolve operational issues.
• Monitor productivity, staffing, workflow, and service-level performance.
• Investigate shipment discrepancies, damages, shortages, and delays and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate inventory and shipment records using warehouse management and transportation systems.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, security requirements, OSHA standards, and applicable transportation regulations.
• Conduct daily safety meetings and promote a safe, organized warehouse environment.
• Assist with scheduling employees and allocating labor according to daily shipment volumes.
• Communicate effectively with management, carriers, customers, and internal departments.
• Prepare and review operational reports, productivity metrics, and shipment documentation.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives designed to increase efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in warehouse, logistics, freight forwarding, transportation, or distribution operations.
• Previous supervisory or team-lead experience strongly preferred.
• Experience managing outbound shipping operations in a high-volume environment.
• Knowledge of international freight forwarding and airport logistics is highly desirable.
• Experience with WMS, TMS, RF scanners, inventory systems, and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of shipping documentation and freight-handling procedures.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple shipments and deadlines.
• Ability to lift, move, and inspect freight as required by the operation.
• Forklift certification or prior forklift experience is a plus.

• $35.00 per hour
• Temp-to-Hire opportunity
