Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor

Our Waynesboro, PA outpatient program provides a supportive, therapeutic environment where clients can build strength, develop skills, and reclaim overall health and well‑being. We are currently seeking a full‑time Intensive Outpatient Counselor to join our dedicated outpatient clinical team. Schedule Monday: 10:00am-8:00pm Tuesday: 8:30am-5:30pm Wednesday: 10am-8pm Thursday: 9am-8pm Position Overview The Counselor plays a key role in delivering individual therapy, group therapy, process groups, and family therapy within our outpatient program. This position also supports daily clinical operations, intake processes, and documentation requirements to ensure the highest level of client care. Key Responsibilities Support daily clinical operations, including assessments, utilization review, and therapeutic services. Provide individual counseling, group therapy, and family therapy to clients engaged in outpatient treatment. Conduct client intake assessments and assist in developing individualized treatment plans. Complete insurance and utilization reviews as needed. Attend shift‑change meetings, supervision, and required company meetings. Maintain a caseload and ensure all client documentation is accurate and timely. Assist the Program Director with program coverage and service needs. Perform clerical duties related to maintaining compliant and organized client files. Actively listen to clients and support them in all aspects of their treatment. Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment, including crisis intervention when appropriate. Complete all required trainings and maintain mandatory continuing education hours. Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
