Position Live Pork Veterinarian Reporting to Multiplication Regional Director Job Status Salaried Location Hybrid Remote – Arkansas and Missouri. Applicant should reside in Southern or Central MO region or be willing to relocate. Job Summary JBS Live Pork is seeking a Live Pork Veterinarian to serve on the multiplication region leadership team. The successful candidate will oversee the health of 26,000 sows and their offspring, producing replacements for the commercial regions, and will interpret and respond to production-limiting diseases by developing, training, and executing effective strategies to support regional success while collaborating with the JBS vet team. Essential Job Functions Investigate, assess, formulate, and present solutions to address health issues Provide visit summaries and recommendations to the production team Conduct routine health checks Implement treatment and vaccination strategies Ensure regulatory compliance Perform diagnostic testing and interpret results Build and maintain effective relationships with consulting veterinarians and industry partners Monitor biosecurity compliance Maintain VCPR with production locations Schedule and conduct health-related technical training such as postmortem labs, biosecurity training, and vaccination training Stay current on the latest industry developments, research, and best practices Participate on internal teams to provide guidance on industry requirements All other duties as assigned Required Qualifications DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) from an accredited school Eligibility for veterinary licensure and USDA accreditation in Missouri and Arkansas Competent in management of swine diseases and working knowledge of farrow-to-finish management Ability to work well in group settings and independently Excellent communication skills On-farm activities expected multiple days per week Working Conditions / Environment Both climate-controlled office and environmentally controlled confined livestock facilities Farm visits may involve dust, odors, and other hazardous conditions Outside temperatures can exceed 100° F in summer and drop below 0° F in winter; exposure to various elements inherent with agricultural production Frequent standing, walking, sitting, use of hands, reaching with hands and arms; occasional climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling Frequent lifting or moving up to 25 lbs; occasional lifting or moving up to 50 lbs Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions (non-weather), working near moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather conditions, extreme heat (non-weather), electrical shock risk, vibration; noise level generally moderate but may be extreme at times Benefits Vision, medical, and dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment Paid time off: sick leave, vacation, and six company-observed holidays 401(k) with company match after the first year of service and per company vesting schedule Better Futures Program – online classes or select 2‑year community college tuition paid for the employee or dependents Leadership Fundamental Program – opportunities for career growth through leadership training Incentive pay: eligible for the company’s annual bonus plan with variable amount subject to standard terms and conditions Travel Regular day travel; occasional overnight travel Pre‑Employment Requirements The company conducts drug, alcohol, and background checks for all new team members post‑offer prior to the start of employment.
