Sr Project Manager

Position Overview

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading the successful delivery of DSA-regulated and education construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role oversees all aspects of project execution including budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, client communication, and field collaboration to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Projects typically include K-12 schools, higher education facilities, campus modernizations, and public sector developments, often involving occupied campuses, phased construction, and complex stakeholder coordination. The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing DSA projects and understands the unique challenges of education construction environments.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage DSA and education construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout.
• Oversee project budgets, forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting.
• Develop and maintain detailed master schedules and phasing plans for active campus environments.
• Lead subcontractor buyouts, contract negotiations, and scope coordination.
• Manage project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and compliance tracking.
• Coordinate closely with Superintendents to ensure strong field execution, safety, and quality control.
• Work directly with school districts, architects, inspectors, consultants, and public agencies throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with DSA requirements, inspections, testing procedures, and public works regulations.
• Lead project meetings and maintain proactive communication with all stakeholders.
• Support preconstruction efforts including estimating, constructability reviews, and value engineering.
• Manage procurement of long-lead materials and coordinate delivery schedules.
• Identify project risks and implement solutions to maintain project schedules and budgets.
• Oversee project closeout including punch lists, commissioning, turnover documentation, and final DSA certification.

Qualifications

• 8-15+ years of experience as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager with a general contractor.
• Strong experience managing DSA-regulated K-12, higher education, or public works construction projects.
• Proven ability to manage projects from preconstruction through completion.
• Strong understanding of DSA processes, inspections, certification requirements, and phased construction.
• Experience working on occupied campus environments and coordinating around active operations.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and contracts.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects or large complex project scopes simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience on projects including modernizations, STEM buildings, classroom buildings, and campus infrastructure upgrades.
• Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
