Job Overview

Our organization is in search of a committed Registered Nurse to join our Critical Care Float Pool at the New Brunswick campus. This facility serves as the primary teaching hospital within our health system and is one of only three Level 1 trauma centers in the state. Renowned for its exceptional clinical quality, we are dedicated to providing outstanding patient care. Our team is focused on ensuring safe, high-quality treatment for all individuals. Nurses in our float pool are essential, delivering exceptional care across various specialties, including trauma, neurology, cardiology, orthopedics, and oncology. They exemplify nursing expertise, adaptability, resilience, effective communication, and teamwork. We are expanding our float pool team to maintain our high standards of care.

Qualifications

Required:

• Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma
• A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Critical Care RN
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities
• Proficient in computer skills

Preferred:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or completion within 5 years of hire
• 2-3 years of experience as a Critical Care RN
• CCRN certification

Certifications and Licenses Required

• Active Registered Nurse License in New Jersey
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• NIHSS certification

Scheduling Requirements

• Night Shift, 36 hours per week, from 7 PM to 7:30 AM
• Monday to Friday, with some weekends and holiday rotations
• Part-time availability

Essential Functions

• The Registered Nurse delivers nursing care within the scope defined by the Nurse Practice Act and adheres to regulatory standards, ensuring ethical practice as outlined by the ANA code of ethics.
• Ensures safety in practice, incorporating evidence-based principles while recognizing personal knowledge and experience levels, and takes responsibility for enhancing the knowledge of self and the patient care team through effective communication and resource utilization.
• Responsible for reporting safety concerns, including hazardous conditions and medical errors.
• Maintains knowledge of the patient demographics served.
• Supervises and directs task delegation to appropriate team members, collaborating with other healthcare providers.
• Consistently sets and evaluates priorities through appropriate interventions aimed at measurable outcomes for improvement.
• Acts as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager, utilizing the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and tailoring the care plan to meet specific patient needs.
