Accounts Payable Manager

Role Summary As an Accounts Payable Manager at ChemTreat, you will lead the AP function, build scalable processes, strengthen controls, and elevate vendor and employee experience. You will own end‑to‑end AP operations, month‑end close, and partner across finance, procurement, and business leaders. Key Responsibilities Lead a team of 5 direct reports. Develop, monitor, and enforce ChemTreat’s Expense Report policy. Ensure timely processing of electronic disbursements, checks, independent contractors, and tax payments. Design, implement, and optimize AP systems, functions, procedures, and policies aligned with best practices. Provide outstanding customer service by responding to AP and expense report inquiries. Oversee month‑end close activities: reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and GL posting. Maintain internal controls, SOX compliance, and segregation of duties related to AP and disbursements. Monitor and report AP performance metrics (aging, exception rates, payment accuracy). Ideal Candidate Process Builder – loves creating order from complexity and has improved AP workflows and controls. People Leader – experienced coaching, developing teams, and fostering a service‑first mindset. Controls Champion – comfortable in a SOX environment; able to spot risk and elevate issues. ERP Power User – large ERP AP experience and can translate business needs into system improvements. Vendor & Stakeholder Partner – communicates clearly, maintains professional vendor relationships, and enforces policy. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. 6+ years of finance/accounting experience with progressive AP responsibilities. 5+ years of leadership experience, hiring, developing, and coaching teams. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, large data sets), Word, and Outlook. Experience with large ERP Accounts Payable systems; 1099 filing experience is a plus. Compensation & Benefits Base salary range: $85,000 – $95,000 USD per year, subject to change. Compensation may be higher or lower based on experience, qualifications, and location.
