About the Company

Central Ohio Primary Care (COPC) is the largest independent Primary Care physician organization in the US. Our established infectious disease specialty practice, Columbus Infectious Disease Specialists, is seeking a board-certified physician or a recent fellow who will obtain certification within one year of hire.

The practice has two physicians, an Office Manager, two MAs, a Patient Service Rep and two Nurse Practitioners in Westerville, Ohio, a suburb of Columbus. The position is available due to a third physician retiring.

Office Hours: 8:30 – 4:00 pm Mon-Thurs; 8:30 to 12 noon on Friday.

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation : $300K, which includes compensation paid by local Mount Carmel health system hospitals for consults and rounding.

Infection Control Compensation - $40,800 paid by two hospitals (St. Ann’s and Dublin Hospital) – amounts to $3,400 paid monthly.

AMS Compensation - $12,000 – amounts to $1,000 paid monthly for 3 hours a week .

Sign-on Bonus of $20K paid in first bi-weekly paycheck and a separate Retention Bonus at 18 months when reaching shareholder status.

20 Vacation days, 5 days off for CME, and 7 Holidays. However, certain holidays; i.e., Christmas will rotate with other physicians as a holiday. Rounding is still required on this holiday.

Receive Admin Support Services from COPC Corporate to help run your practice .

  Responsibilities:

• Inpatient Rounding is scheduled at 3 local hospitals daily as a Team. Monday-Friday and one weekend every third weekend.
• Outpatient Appointments in Office – 2 half-days each week.
• Work with the patient’s PCP to manage the patient’s condition.
• Diagnose and communicate the results of tests, condition, and course of therapy and medical procedures to patient. This includes options, the goal, possible side effects, and the length of treatment for the patient.
• Hospital Telehealth Consults as needed.
• Would Care Opportunity including HBO is available.
• Physicians cover their own calls plus 1 weekend every 3 weeks.
• Electronic Health Records (EPIC). Training is available at HR onboarding.

Qualifications

• Medical School (four years) (MD/DO).
• Residency in internal medicine (three years).
• Fellowship in infectious diseases (two years).
• Board certification in Internal Medicine: Infectious Disease within one year of joining practice.
• Unrestricted Medical License in Ohio after treating patients.

This practice is about 16 miles from downtown Columbus and a 10-20-minute drive from neighboring towns. Columbus can be compared to a metropolitan city hub with over 930,000 residents. Higher education is strong in Columbus, with our university ranked in the top 25. The arts community offers numerous festivals and events, galleries, and cool exhibits. There are over 500 parks in Columbus. Ongoing entertainment venues and many popular sports teams, including well-known football, hockey, and soccer teams, are here.
