Job Details Specialty: Family Medicine (Internal Medicine experience also considered) Employment Type: Locum Tenens Physician Job Start Date: August 21, 2026 Duration: 19 weeks with potential to extend Schedule: Monday 12:00 PM-8:00 PM; Tuesday through Friday 8:00 AM-4:00 PM Shifts per Week: 5 Shift Duration: 8 hours Weekly Hours: 40 Setting: Inpatient and outpatient care in a correctional health environment Location: Canonsburg, PA - southwestern Pennsylvania with easy access to the greater Pittsburgh area Job Requirements Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Active Pennsylvania medical license required At least 1 year of clinical experience preferred BLS certification required ACLS certification preferred Strong skills in primary care, diagnosis, prevention, and chronic disease management Comfort managing routine and acute patient concerns Ability to work collaboratively with advanced practice providers and clinical support staff Basic procedural skills such as suturing, splinting, and incision & drainage Responsibilities Provide comprehensive family medicine and primary care services for adult patients Assess, diagnose, treat, and monitor patients using sound clinical judgment Develop individualized care plans and provide patient education on prevention and disease management Order medications, refills, ancillary testing, and referrals as appropriate Lead and support advanced practice providers and clinical support personnel Perform routine procedures and address acute patient issues efficiently Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record Support quality, compliance, and care coordination efforts If you are a Family Medicine Physician looking for a locum tenens opportunity in Pennsylvania, apply now to join a dedicated healthcare team in Canonsburg, PA.
