As part of HDR’s Washington Water Business Group, our thriving team is recognized throughout Washington in the planning, design, and delivery of complex water/wastewater pump station, pipeline and treatment projects. As a water/wastewater engineer in our group, you will play an integral part on various multidisciplinary teams to support highly visible, impactful public infrastructure projects across the region and country. Responsibilities Perform complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection, and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures Make decisions on significant design and engineering procedures, as needed Act as technical specialist or project manager on mid-size projects, as needed Delegate to and mentor junior staff, as needed Supervise a small staff of professionals and technicians as needed Preferred Qualifications Registered Professional Engineer in Washington or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months Minimum of 5 years’ experience designing and supporting implementation of pipeline, pump station and/or treatment projects Master’s degree Software knowledge: AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Microsoft Office; scheduling software, hydraulic or process modeling software experience a plus Active in area water/wastewater industry associations is a strong plus Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field Previous experience designing and creating plans and specifications for water and wastewater projects Professional Engineer (PE) license Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of a task An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We Believe HDR is our company. The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
