Scrapworks Industrial LLC is hiring a Picking Line Sorter / Plant Helper for our recycling plant in Beaumont, TX.

You'll work the picking line at our new recycling plant — pulling copper, aluminum, brass and other non-ferrous metal and contaminants off the conveyor as processed material comes through — and help keep the plant clean and running: power washing equipment and floors, scooping up debris, and general upkeep around the facility. Entry-level; we train. Show up every day, work safe, and there's a path to Plant Helper, Equipment Operator and beyond as the plant grows.

Pay: $14.00/hour starting · overtime at 1.5x over 40 hours · paid biweekly by direct deposit Schedule: Full time, Monday–Friday per facility hours; Saturdays and overtime as production requires Benefits: Health and 401(k) eligibility per plan terms

What you'll do

• Work the picking line: hand-sort non-ferrous metals (copper, aluminum, brass, stainless), wire, and contaminants (rubber, plastic, trash, wood) off the conveyor into the correct bins
• Keep the line moving — clear buildup and hang-ups at the picking station, call out jams and foreign objects (tanks, cylinders, sealed containers) before they reach the processing equipment
• Power wash processing equipment, conveyors, floors and walkways on a set schedule and after shifts
• Scoop, shovel and sweep debris and fines; empty and stage bins; keep the picking platform, pits and surrounding yard clean and clear
• Basic upkeep: grease points and fluid checks once trained, hose and nozzle care, tidy tool and PPE areas
• Report worn belts, damaged guards, leaks and unsafe conditions to the lead
• Help with other yard and plant tasks as assigned

What we're looking for

• No experience required — we train. Warehouse, construction, landscaping, farm or recycling background is a plus
• Reliable attendance — this position keeps the line running
• Able to stand at the line and stay focused for a full shift
• Works outdoors year-round in Southeast Texas heat, humidity, rain, noise and dust
• Follows safety rules and wears required PPE every day
• Dependable transportation
• 18+ and authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice to have: knows how to tell copper, brass, aluminum and stainless apart · forklift or skid steer experience · Spanish/English bilingual · OSHA 10

Physical demands: With or without reasonable accommodation — stand for extended periods; repetitive reaching, grabbing, bending and twisting; lift and carry up to 50 lbs; climb stairs and platforms; work around moving conveyors and loud equipment. Hearing protection, safety-toe boots, hard hat, eye protection, cut-resistant gloves and hi-vis required on the floor.
