This contract opportunity centers around providing dedicated 1:1 care for a student managing Type 1 diabetes, utilizing advanced technology and hands-on assessment skills. Situated near Jersey City, NJ, you'll play an essential part in the student’s health and daily educational experience.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Active, unrestricted LPN or LVN license valid in New Jersey
• Prior experience in a school setting or pediatric care is highly valued
• Demonstrated proficiency with diabetes management, specifically the Dexcom CGM and Omnipod insulin pump
• Ability to monitor glucose trends, interpret data, and recognize patterns
• Comfortable performing manual blood glucose checks and using finger-stick meters as backup
• Strong communication skills for student interaction and collaboration with educational staff and guardians
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to follow individualized healthcare plans

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide vigilant 1:1 monitoring and management of a student’s Type 1 diabetes regimen throughout the school day
• Actively use and troubleshoot Dexcom CGM and Omnipod pump technology to ensure accurate glucose management
• Initiate manual checks when digital readings do not align with the student’s symptoms, ensuring safety and prompt intervention
• Document assessments, interventions, and communication in accordance with privacy standards
• Foster a safe and supportive environment, empowering the student to participate fully in the school day
