Senior Systems Engineer

Our platform combines real-time imaging, robotics, and artificial intelligence to make precise and consistent intervention more accessible. Our aim is to eliminate barriers in the patient journey, accelerate recovery, delight customers, and reduce cost of care. About the Opportunity Mendaera is looking for a Systems Engineer to support the successful commercialization of the Focalist system; define solutions that address unmet needs in healthcare; quantify those solutions with engineering specifications and KPIs; lead system level prioritization and execution. The position reports to Mendaera's Systems Engineering Manager, and will collaborate closely with our product management and engineering teams. Salary range: $170,000 to $185,000 About You We are looking for candidates who: thrive in fast-paced environments; embrace ambiguity; can create frameworks and work-product from scratch; are able to level between micro and macro analysis; possess critical and system thinking ability; are detail oriented. Systems Engineer responsibilities include:
- Lead cross-functional teams to design and develop new features for the Focalist System
- Understand the system from both a technical and user perspective, and drive definition and development of the system accordingly
- Work with product to translate clinical and business requirements to design input requirements and technical specifications
- Generate engineering studies and risk assessments to bound technical problems and clearly communicate trade-offs between engineering solutions
- Develop test methods to accurately characterize and verify the system design against performance requirements
- Integrate and debug prototypes, maintain configuration and documentation records of verification candidates
- Maintain risk file documents, including FMEA and System Hazard analysis
- Prioritizing engineering feature sets and driving system level execution
- Tracking engineering requirements and KPIs across development lifecycle
- Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and independent
- Excellent technical and analytical capability
- High emotional intelligence and ability to build and manage diverse relationships
- Significant demonstrated experience collaborating with technical partners
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Versatility and ability to operate in a small-team environment

- Medical-device product development experience including verification and validation
- Advanced technical degree and ≥5 years industry experience preferred
