Attorney - Matrimonial & Family Law

Introduction : Marotta Blazini Dunleavy (MBD), is seeking a dedicated and aspiring Family Law Attorney to join our team in our Bergen County, New Jersey office. The ideal candidate must have strong communication, research and legal writing skills, an outstanding work ethic, the ability to think creatively while practicing sound judgment and deliver exceptional client relations and court engagements. Must have 4-7 years experience in family law, licensed to practice law in the State of New Jersey and be in good standing. Key Responsibilities: As a Family Law Litigation Attorney, you will manage a mirage of litigation matters including assigned cases and one's book of business, which will include all aspects of family law such as divorce, custody and domestic violence matters. This is a client-facing role with significant responsibility and necessitates the need for strong interpersonal skills, and fundamental understanding of family law issues. Further description of some tasks are: Manage a caseload of complex family law matters from intake through resolution; Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, settlement agreements, and other legal documents; Advise clients on legal options and strategy with empathy and professionalism, including representation in court proceedings including motions, hearings, and trials; Negotiate settlements and mediate disputes when appropriate, including the development and execution of said settlements; Participate in networking, business development activities and contribute positively to the firm’s culture and growth initiatives; Qualifications: Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school Admission to the New Jersey State Bar and current good standing Minimum of 4-7 years of experience in family law Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to empathetically communicate with clients to provide excellent customer service Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management software Exceptional organizational abilities and attention to detail.
