Position Overview
Life’s Energy Wellness Center, Inc. (LEWC Inc.) is seeking an experienced and compassionate Licensed Outpatient Mental Health Counselor Supervisor to provide clinical leadership and supervision within our outpatient mental health program.
The ideal candidate will be a Maryland-licensed LCSW-C or LCPC with strong clinical skills, leadership experience, and a commitment to providing high-quality, culturally responsive, trauma-informed behavioral health services to children, adolescents, adults, and families.
The Clinical Supervisor will oversee the delivery of outpatient mental health services, provide clinical supervision to therapists and other clinical staff, support quality assurance and compliance, and ensure services are delivered in accordance with Maryland behavioral health regulations, ethical standards, and organizational policies.
Required Licensure
Required:
Current, unrestricted Maryland LCSW-C or LCPC license
License must be in good standing with the appropriate Maryland licensing board
Clinical supervision experience preferred
Experience supervising LGPCs, LMSWs, graduate-level clinicians, or other behavioral health professionals preferred
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Supervision & Leadership
Provide regular individual and group clinical supervision to assigned clinicians.
Review clinical documentation, treatment plans, assessments, progress notes, and discharge documentation.
Provide guidance regarding clinical interventions, diagnosis, treatment planning, risk assessment, and case conceptualization.
Support clinicians in managing complex clinical cases.
Monitor clinical performance and provide constructive feedback and professional development.
Assist with onboarding, training, and orientation of new clinical staff.
Maintain appropriate supervision documentation and ensure supervision requirements are met.
Outpatient Clinical Services
Provide individual, family, and/or group psychotherapy as appropriate.
Conduct clinical assessments and develop or review individualized treatment plans.
Ensure services are trauma-informed, culturally responsive, person-centered, and evidence-based.
Support clinicians in implementing evidence-based treatment modalities.
Participate in crisis intervention, safety planning, and risk management when clinically indicated.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, PRP staff, case managers, families, schools, and community providers.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
Ensure clinical services comply with Maryland behavioral health regulations, CARF standards, payer requirements, ethical standards, and LEWC Inc. policies and procedures.
Monitor clinical documentation for accuracy, timeliness, medical necessity, and quality.
Participate in chart reviews, audits, performance improvement activities, and Quality Improvement Projects (QIPs).
Assist with identifying trends, clinical risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Promote adherence to organizational policies related to client rights, confidentiality, safety, incident reporting, and mandated reporting.
Support preparation for regulatory, accreditation, and payer audits.
Team Collaboration
Participate in clinical and administrative meetings.
Work collaboratively with the Clinical Director, Medical Director, therapists, PRP staff, administrative staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
Facilitate communication between clinical staff and other service departments.
Assist leadership with program development, clinical initiatives, and staff training.
Promote a positive, professional, and supportive clinical culture.
Qualifications
Required:
Current Maryland LCSW-C or LCPC license
Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health discipline
Clinical experience providing outpatient mental health services
Strong knowledge of behavioral health assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and psychotherapy
Strong understanding of confidentiality, mandated reporting, suicide risk assessment, safety planning, and clinical documentation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to provide effective clinical supervision and constructive feedback
Ability to work effectively with children, adolescents, adults, and families
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently while functioning effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team
Preferred:
Previous clinical supervisory experience
Experience working in an outpatient mental health clinic
Experience working with children and adolescents
Experience with evidence-based behavioral health interventions
Experience with CARF-accredited behavioral health programs
Knowledge of Maryland BHA and COMAR requirements
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR)
Experience with quality assurance, utilization review, or clinical auditing
