Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | 36 or 48 Hours Per Week Available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on Medical Surgical and Telemetry units with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5 (possible 1:6)
• Perform IV starts and continuous telemetry monitoring as core clinical duties
• Float to other MS/Tele, PCU, and lower acuity settings within scope of practice as needed, including the Emergency Department
• Complete accurate and timely documentation using Cerner electronic health records
• Fulfill weekend requirements of approximately 2 weekends per 4-week schedule, with possible variation based on unit needs

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico or ability to obtain (license may be pending at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in Medical Surgical or Telemetry setting
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications (RQI certifications not accepted)
• Proficiency with IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (non-local requirement); non-local driver's license required on file

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience preferred, particularly for candidates interested in Emergency Department float assignments
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic health records system
• Experience in PCU or higher acuity settings in addition to MS/Tele background
