GIM Academic Inpatient Physician

Position Overview West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medicine seek a General Internal Medicine physician qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV. This position will focus primarily on academic inpatient internal medicine with a small outpatient component. At WVU, you will collaborate with a team of over 25 experienced internists. All subspecialties are present and available for consultation within the clinic and hospital. Opportunities also exist in clinical research. Physicians with a special interest in global health would have an opportunity to participate in our rapidly expanding global health residency track. Duties Provide excellent patient care. Actively involved in teaching medical students and residents. Maintain an outstanding, extramurally supported research program (expected for Associate Professor or Professor rank). Qualifications MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent. Eligible to obtain an unrestricted state medical license. Completed an accredited internal medicine residency program at the time of appointment. For Associate Professor or Professor rank: demonstrated track‑record of leadership, excellent communication skills, and publications in high‑impact journals. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment. Schedule 40 hours per week. Exempt – United States of America.
