Purpose of Position:  

Amalgamated Bank, America’s socially responsible bank, seeks a full-time Data Governance Analyst who will play a crucial role in ensuring effective data governance for our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of data governance policies and practices to ensure data accuracy, consistency, security, and compliance across the bank.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
2. Collaborate with data stewards and data owners across different departments to ensure adherence to data governance policies.
3. Monitor data quality metrics and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
4. Conduct data reviews to ensure data integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements.
5. Support the implementation of data governance tools and technologies to enhance data management processes.
6. Create and maintain documentation related to data governance processes and procedures.
7. Educate and train bank employees on data governance best practices and policies.
8. Participate in cross-functional teams to support data governance initiatives and projects.
9. Other duties as required by the head of data governance

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in data governance, data management, data quality, or a related technical role.
3. Understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality management, and regulatory compliance requirements.
4. Experience with data governance tools and technologies is a plus.
5. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
6. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
7. Familiarity using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SQL) to manipulate data and draw insights from large datasets.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base salary for this role is between $100,000.00 – $115,000.00. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferrable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Hybrid Work Model 
Effective February 18, 2025, employees in office-based positions will be working a Hybrid work schedule consisting of three days or more, on-site per week, Monday - Thursday, although the specific days may vary by site or organization, with Friday designated as a remote-working day, unless business critical tasks require an on-site presence. This Hybrid work model does not apply to, and daily in-person attendance is required for, the contact center, branch service roles, and general services where the work to be performed is located at a Company site; positions covered by a collective-bargaining agreement (unless the agreement provides for hybrid work); or any other position for which the Company has determined the job requirements cannot be reasonably met working remotely. Please note, this Hybrid work model guidance does not apply to roles that have been designated as “remote”.
