Job Description Responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care under the direction of an RN or LPN. Assists residents with activities of daily living, provides personal care, comfort, and support. Maintains a safe and clean environment for all residents. 10:00pm – 6:00am with every other weekend and holiday rotation. Pay based on experience starting at $17.79. Responsibilities Accompanies residents to appointments, meals, and social activities. Assists in Activities of Daily Living (eating, dressing, bathing, toileting, ambulating, repositioning, etc.). Assists in admission, transfer, and discharge procedures, including preparing room, completing inventory checklist, taking vital signs and weight, and completing the CNA portion of the education checklist. Documents and reports resident’s condition, complaints of pain, changes in patient status, refusals of care, adverse reactions, behaviors, etc. Lifts and turns with proper and safe body mechanics and with available resources; follows transfer orders regarding number of assistance and method (gait belt, sit‑to‑stand, or full body lift). Maintains a safe, clean environment for residents by changing bed linen, straightening rooms, cleaning over‑bed tables and bedside tables, taking out trash, and cleaning equipment, soiled utility room, supply room, and kitchenette. Maintains dirty linen carts and empties soiled linen to eliminate odors; performs daily chores as assigned. Maintains oxygen concentrators and tanks; notifies unit secretary or cardiopulmonary when a new tank is needed. Makes rounds with outgoing and incoming shifts to ensure the unit is left in good condition. Meets resident’s nutritional needs by tray set‑up, assisting resident in eating, providing bedtime snacks, offering fluids, and frequently offering additional fluids. Performs/assists with daily hygiene, including bathing, hand/face washing, hair care, shaving, oral hygiene, peri‑care, Foley care, nail care, grooming, glasses, dentures, and hearing aids. Provides skin care, prevents skin breakdown, turns and repositions every two hours or more often, and uses skin creams routinely. Responds to resident’s call light and other indicators promptly and courteously and follows through to meet residents’ needs. Takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, blood pressure, intake/output; collects urine and stool specimens and brings them to the laboratory. Requirements High School diploma or equivalent (Required). BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire. Completion of first semester of RN program or Sarah Bush Lincoln CNA certification. Compensation and Benefits Estimated compensation range: $17.79 – $27.57 per hour, paid based on experience.
