Travel Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – 13-Week Night Shift Contract

• Shift: 12-hour night shifts, approximately three shifts per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Call Requirement: None
• Unit: 48-bed medical-surgical unit
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:6–8 on nights
• Charting System: EPIC
• Orientation: One day of educator and computer-system orientation plus one day with a preceptor

Medical-Surgical Travel Nurse Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in West Virginia
• At least 1 year of medical-surgical nursing experience in an acute-care setting
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience caring for adult acute-care patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions
• Ability to titrate appropriate medications, including heparin, Bumex, and Lasix; cardiac drip titration is not required
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend, and assigned holidays as needed
• Willingness to float to medical-surgical, medical-surgical telemetry, or intermediate-care areas for lower-acuity patients
• First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply

Travel RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for adult medical-surgical patients throughout the night shift
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions, responses to treatment, and changes in clinical status
• Care for patients with diagnoses including pneumonia, urinary tract infections, altered mental status, gastrointestinal bleeding, alcohol withdrawal, falls, and generalized weakness
• Administer medications and manage approved titratable infusions in accordance with clinical protocols
• Collaborate with providers, respiratory therapists, patient care technicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Monitor patients receiving oxygen therapy and respiratory support, escalating concerns appropriately while respiratory therapy manages specialized equipment
• Use EPIC to complete accurate, timely patient documentation
• Support safe patient mobility, fall prevention, hygiene, nutrition, toileting, and other activities of daily living
• Float or participate in shift-pull assignments when needed to support patient care across designated units
