Job Title: 5 Axis CNC Machinist/Operator Job Description

We are seeking skilled 5 Axis CNC Machinists/Operators for openings on all shifts, specifically for 3, 4, and 5 axis machines. This role involves setting up and operating a variety of CNC machines to produce precision parts. Candidates will work on either the 2nd or 3rd shifts, with hours as follows: 2nd shift: Monday-Thursday, 4:15pm-2:45am and 3rd shift: Friday-Sunday, 4am-4:30pm.

• Calculate dimensions or tolerances using instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and portable CMM or FARO.
• Machine parts to specifications using 5 & 3 axis machines.
• Set up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools for precision machining operations.
• Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials onto machines as per setup documentation.
• Measure, examine, or test completed parts to check for defects and ensure conformance using precision instruments.
• Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
• Maintain machine tools in proper operational condition.
• Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, or engineering information to determine product conformance.
• Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency.
• Diagnose machine tool malfunctions and determine need for adjustments or repairs.
• Consult with engineering, supervisory, or inspection personnel to verify technical information.
• Fit and assemble fixtures and cutters to make or repair customer products.
• Dispose of scrap or waste material in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations.
• Separate scrap waste and related materials for reuse, recycling, or disposal.
• Evaluate machining procedures and recommend changes for improved efficiency per Kaizen process.

• Experience with equipment maintenance, operation monitoring, and control.
• Programming skills for writing computer programs.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of experience running 3, 4, and 5 axis numerical control machines preferred.
• Familiarity with Mazak, 4 Axis, 5 Axis, Set-up, G&M codes, Fanuc and Haas Controls, and the operation of specific models like Vortex i-630V.
• Experience with tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.

The position offers a structured training period of 6-8 weeks before transitioning to either the 2nd or 3rd shifts. This is a Permanent position based out of Wichita, KS.

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $52000.00/yr.
