Forklift Operator

The Shipping & Warehouse Clerk is responsible for handling incoming and outgoing shipments, organizing inventory, and moving materials.

Responsibilities

• Practice smart operating techniques to ensure the safety of the entire team.
• Use warehouse software to accurately log where product is located.
• Pick orders with standing forklifts, pallet jacks, and load trucks according to schedule.
• Hand sort and stack parts when necessary.
• Wrap and package products coming out of production departments.
• Unload inbound trucks and place items in the warehouse utilizing warehouse software.
• Fill out trailer logs to ensure accurate load information.
• Visually inspect parts that are picked for any rust or noticeable flaws.
• Pull non-conforming inventory and place in quarantine location with proper labeling.
• Record job progress data accurately (both handwritten and through ERP software).

Essential Skills

• Experience in shipping and warehouse operations.
• Proficiency in using shipping and receiving tools.
• Ability to operate a turret truck and forklift.
• Experience in unloading and inventory management.
• Minimum tenure of 6+ months in most recent position.
• At least two years of overall forklift experience, including stand-up forklift experience or willingness to learn.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in a top fabrication shop is advantageous.
• Comfortable with heights as turret trucks reach high areas.

Work Environment

The work environment is a sheet metal facility with large warehouses that are heated and air-conditioned. The location is at 5150 NW 40th St., Lincoln, NE. The work schedule is from Monday to Thursday, 6 AM to 4:30 PM, with mandatory overtime on Fridays when applicable. The dress code includes steel-toed shoes, jeans, and solid t-shirts in specified colors, while shorts are permissible in hotter months. The team aims to grow to 35 people, with oversight by the warehouse supervisor. Employees should be comfortable with heights, as turret trucks are used to access high storage areas.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lincoln, NE.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
