Maintenance SpecialistUse your maintenance skills to keep To The Rescue properties safe, functional, and well-maintained while making a visible impact across the organization.About the RoleTo The Rescue is seeking a dependable Maintenance Specialist to help keep our properties safe, functional, and well-maintained. This is a hands-on, varied role that includes general building repairs, preventative maintenance, work orders, and troubleshooting a range of property and facility needs.You'll work independently and with the maintenance department to accomplish tasks across our properties, respond to maintenance requests, coordinate with contractors when needed, and help keep things running smoothly.Key ResponsibilitiesComplete general repairs involving walls, ceilings, flooring, doors, windows, siding, roofing, and other building componentsTroubleshoot and repair appliances, plumbing, water heaters, electrical systems, and HVAC equipmentPerform preventative maintenance and routine property inspectionsRespond to work orders and complete repairs in a timely mannerMaintain safe, clean, and functional properties and groundsSafely operate and maintain tools, equipment, and facility systemsKeep tools, equipment, and storage areas organized and secureIdentify maintenance needs and communicate issues that require additional attentionCoordinate with outside contractors when neededCommunicate project timelines and delays effectivelyAssist the construction team and other departments with maintenance and facility-related projectsParticipate in an on-call rotation and respond to after-hours maintenance needsWhat We're Looking ForDependable, hands-on problem solver who takes pride in their workPrevious maintenance, handyman, property maintenance, facilities, or similar experienceComfortable tackling a variety of general repair and maintenance tasksAbility to troubleshoot problems and determine when additional expertise is neededComfortable working independently and managing multiple requestsStrong communication skills preferredAbility to safely use common hand and power toolsValid driver's license and eligibility for company vehicle insuranceHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredWork Environment & Physical RequirementsThis is a hands-on position with regular travel between To The Rescue properties throughout the Cedar Rapids area.
