Job Summary Handle complex homeowners and commercial property claims with minimal supervision and guidance from the manager. Location This is a fully remote/work from home role where you will spend 50% of your time in the field, servicing Southern Illinois area. On occasion you may be asked to travel to an office location for in-person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and corporate events. Responsibilities & Qualifications We are seeking an experienced property adjuster who can independently manage a variety of homeowners and commercial property claims with minimal supervision while delivering exceptional service and sound decision-making. Success in this position requires strong analytical thinking, excellent negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to build relationships while navigating complex situations. A high level of comfort with claims technology and systems is essential. Investigate claims thoroughly, analyze coverage, liability, and damages, and develop well-supported coverage positions. Negotiate settlements with insureds, claimants, and attorneys, while maintaining proactive file management and accurate reserving practices. Oversee litigated files, present claims to internal committees, and ensure adherence to audit and departmental guidelines. Qualifications: Prior experience handling property claims. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, or a related field; experience in the property restoration industry is a plus. Industry designations such as Associate in Claims (AIC), Associate in General Insurance (AINS), or CPCU coursework preferred. Acceptable driving record. Must reside in Southern Illinois or the St. Louis metro area. Salary The salary range for this position is $70,000-$90,000. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. Compensation decisions are made by West Bend and are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
