Job Description
Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Schedule

12-hour shifts; start times of either 3:00 AM or 3:00 PM, or 11:00 AM or 11:00 PM; expected rotations include nights and days.

Assignment Details

Floating between units is required based on facility needs.

Requirements

• Must possess a valid nursing license.
• Experience in Labor and Delivery required.
• Specialized knowledge in High Risk OB preferred.
• Ability to float to Postpartum and High Risk Antepartum units.
• Must have reliable transportation for this assignment.
• On-call duty may be required if shifts are canceled.
• Weekend shifts required every other weekend.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in the Labor and Delivery unit.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond effectively to changes.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Educate patients and families about health maintenance and disease prevention.
• Document patient care and updates in the electronic medical record.
