• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: Typically 1:4, 1:5, or 1:6 depending on acuity and unit needs
• Float Requirement: Float among cardiac telemetry, medical-surgical telemetry, and surgical telemetry units
• Call: No call required

Med/Surg Telemetry RN Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Pennsylvania
• At least 2 years of recent medical-surgical and telemetry nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Current NIHSS certification
• Strong cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation skills
• Ability to adapt quickly while floating across multiple inpatient units
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and teamwork skills

Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for adult and geriatric patients across medical-surgical and telemetry units.
• Assess, monitor, and manage patients with pneumonia, stroke, sepsis, congestive heart failure, complex medical conditions, and multiple comorbidities.
• Interpret cardiac telemetry and obtain 12-lead EKGs as clinically indicated.
• Care for patients following bariatric surgery, Aquablation procedures, and other surgical interventions.
• Manage CPAP and BiPAP, tracheostomies, feeding tubes, PCA pumps, PICC lines, central lines, surgical drains, and wound vac therapy.
• Administer blood and blood products safely according to established clinical protocols.
• Care for patients receiving medications and infusions such as amiodarone, diltiazem, milrinone, nitroglycerin, and heparin, including titrated therapies within scope and policy.
• Collaborate with certified nursing assistants and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate safe, effective patient care.
• Prioritize care, respond to changing patient conditions, and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
