Associate Family Law Attorney

The Associate Family Law Attorney will join a small law firm team, focusing primarily on divorce and custody cases while supporting a broad family law practice. Reporting directly to the Senior Attorney, this role demands strong legal expertise and client management skills to effectively handle case management, client consultations, and court representations. Occasional travel to courthouses and client meetings is expected.
Responsibilities
- Manage family law cases from initiation through resolution
- Consult with clients to provide legal guidance and support
- Conduct thorough legal research relevant to family law matters
- Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements
- Represent clients in court hearings and trials
- Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel
- Prepare cases for settlement discussions and trial proceedings
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in family law
- Proficient legal research skills
- Experience supporting litigation processes
- Strong document drafting capabilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Effective time management
- High attention to detail
