Salesperson/Store Driver Store

Job Description Entry-level sales and store support positions at Advance Auto Parts. Roles may be part-time or full-time with preferred fleet safety certification. Salesperson What is a Salesperson? Responsibilities Provide an excellent selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls. Achieve personal sales goals and help the store achieve its sales targets. Perform DIY services including battery installation, testing, and wiper installs. Maintain store product and operational standards. Handle inventory processes such as truck put-away, shoot‑outs, cycle counts, and back‑stock management. Secondary Responsibilities Maintain store cleanliness (floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot). General stocking, including truck stocking and back‑stock. Safely deliver parts to customers as needed. Success Factors Basic driving and navigation ability. Ability to use the delivery board system. Friendly communication and relationship building. Ability to locate and stock parts. Safety knowledge and skills. Proficiency with inventory systems and store equipment. Parts and automotive system knowledge. Operating POS and parts lookup systems. Expertise with testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY service. Essential Job Skills Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management. Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals. Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed. Prior Experience 2‑3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment, providing superior customer experiences. Store Driver What is a Store Driver? Primary Responsibilities Safely deliver parts to customers as needed. Pick and stage parts for customer orders. Pick up returns and cores. Drop off weekly / monthly sales flyers. Daily collection of credit accounts. Secondary Responsibilities Maintain store cleanliness (floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot). Physical Demands The employee will predominantly be walking or standing, using hands and fingers to handle or feel items, reaching with hands and arms, and frequently lifting or moving up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment Work is usually inside, with occasional outside exposure to weather. Tasks include installing batteries and wiper blades. The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, electrical shock, explosives, and vibration. Noise levels are usually moderate.
