CT Technician

Job Summary:

The CT Technician will perform CT scans on patients of all age groups in a busy outpatient and Emergency Department setting. The role requires proficiency in Siemens equipment and the ability to work independently while collaborating with other team members. The technician will be responsible for various imaging procedures, including abdomen, pelvis, chest, head, neck, spine, and musculoskeletal scans.

Location:Matthews, North Carolina, United States

Responsibilities:

- Perform CT scans on patients of all age groups.
- Prepare and administer contrast media.
- Ensure radiation safety protocols are followed.
- Start peripheral IVs and perform venipuncture.
- Perform imaging procedures for abdomen, pelvis, chest, head, neck, spine, and musculoskeletal areas.
- Maintain and clean equipment.
- Document patient care and related duties appropriately.
- Answer unit phone and direct calls accordingly.
- Coordinate equipment/supply needs.

Required Skills & Certifications:

- Minimum 2 years of experience as a CT Technician
- Experience in Adult Acute Care, ICU, and Emergency Department settings
- Siemens equipment proficiency
- Isolation Precautions knowledge
- Preparation and administration of contrast media skills
- Radiation Safety knowledge
- Starting Peripheral IVs skills
- Venipuncture skills
- BLS certification
- ARRT CT certification

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

- PACS experience
- Colorectal Studies (rectal contrast) experience
- Heart imaging experience
- 3D rendering skills
- Multiplanar reconstruction (MRP) skills
- Region of Interest (ROI) skills
- Experience with Aspirations, Biopsies, Brain Perfusion, CT arthrography, Drainage, and Myelography special procedures

Special Considerations:

- No RTO allowed after booking.
- Call offs or additional RTO on unit could result in cancellation.
- Possible weekend coverage required with 2-week notice.
- Must be fully available with no other commitments to accommodate any schedule changes.
- Missing any portion of orientation may result in a delayed or canceled start.

Scheduling:
- 40 hours per week may be offered.
- 8-hour evening shifts: 1330 - 2200
- Scheduling is per unit needs.
- Orientation is 16 hours, typically from 10a-630p.
