Position Summary
This position is responsible for completing the duties necessary to assist in providing service to seniors and other eligible participants and creating a clean and orderly program area. SCHEDULE Days: Monday and Thursday Work Hours: 8:30 am to 1:30 pm Hours Per Shift: 5 Shifts Per Pay Period: 4 Position FTE: 0.00 Applications are being accepted from current County employees as well as members of the public.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions: it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Sanitize and set tables and chairs prior to program start. Sanitize tables and chairs and put away in designated area after participants have departed for the day. Check program space to ensure the proper temperature and set up. Move or remove items that may pose as a tripping hazard. Assist in providing programming for eligible participants; cognitive stimulation, relaxation, exercise/stretching, engagement, etc. Greet participants and document participant attendance. Provide direction to volunteers on program needs and participant assistance. Assist participants with hand over hand therapeutic technique when engaged in programs. Ensure that program supplies are stocked and accessible. Compile all daily and monthly paperwork. Demonstrate a commitment to county safety and risk management efforts.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience High school diploma or equivalent competencies, and zero to six months of relevant prior experience. Proven basic arithmetic skills with ability to count and look-up numbered items, or sort times in numerical order. Interactions & Communication Responds to the requests of others for basic and general information. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations and other Requirements Valid driver's license. Proof of minimum liability auto insurance. Decision Making This position has authority to make decisions that are within detailed procedures and protocols and under close supervision. These decisions directly impact performance in the job and/or work unit within the department and information is provided to others for their decision-making. Thinking & Problem Solving In relation to established procedures, protocols and policies of the County, the complexity of this job is low, and challenges are relatively minimal.
