Director of Federal Contracts & Pricing

I'm partnering with a well-established, mission-driven organization in Northern Virginia seeking a Director of Federal Pricing & Contracts to lead its federal pricing, negotiation, compliance, and pricing support function. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for someone with deep experience in federal government contracting, pricing, FAR/DFARS compliance, and contract negotiations who also enjoys developing teams and improving processes. The Director will oversee a six-person team and work closely with federal customers, nonprofit partners, and internal leadership to ensure products and services are competitively priced, supported by defensible cost and market data, successfully negotiated, and compliant with federal procurement requirements. What You'll Do Lead federal pricing analysis, price negotiations, and price-adjustment activities. Analyze cost data, indirect rates, market research, and competitive information to establish defensible pricing. Oversee pricing and supporting documentation submitted to federal stakeholders. Evaluate price reasonableness and ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, and other federal acquisition requirements . Apply federal proposal and price-analysis principles, including FAR Part 15 . Partner with government agencies, nonprofit organizations, customers, and internal stakeholders on complex pricing actions. Lead negotiations involving new and existing products and services, economic adjustments, and other pricing changes. Manage, mentor, train, and develop a team of pricing professionals. Drive continuous improvement across pricing, compliance, documentation, and related processes. Develop training materials and educate internal and external stakeholders on federal pricing requirements. Participate in executive discussions, long-term planning, and cross-functional initiatives. What We're Looking For Must Haves: 10+ years of federal contracts, subcontract administration, and/or federal pricing experience Strong hands-on experience with federal pricing and price analysis Deep working knowledge of FAR and DFARS Experience with federal proposal analysis and pricing methodologies Strong understanding of cost/price development, market research, and indirect rates Proven experience leading and developing teams Strong negotiation and stakeholder-management skills Executive-level communication and leadership presence Highly Preferred: Background within a government contractor's Pricing or Contracts organization 6+ years of supervisory/leadership experience AbilityOne Program exposure CFCM and/or CPCM certification Experience leading process improvement and operational transformation initiatives Why Consider It?
