Travel Radiation Therapist

American Traveler seeks a Radiation Therapist for a breast center outpatient setting requiring ARRT-T certification and 3+ years of experience with Varian TrueBeam and Aria systems.

Job Details

• Work at a comprehensive breast center in an outpatient radiation therapy setting,
• Day shift schedule, 9:30am-6:00pm, Monday through Friday, no weekends,
• 10-hour shifts only during holiday weeks to accommodate 40 guaranteed hours,
• No on-call requirements,
• Uses Varian TrueBeam linacs and Aria version 15 for treatment,
• Uses Eclipse treatment planning system and Varis/Vision record & verify systems,
• Epic EMR experience required,
• Vision RT experience preferred but not required,

Job Requirements

• ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy Technology required,
• Current BLS certification required,
• Minimum of 3 years of experience required,
• OH state license required if applicable,
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program,
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred,
• Experience with IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, respiratory gating, and stereotactic radiosurgery,
• Skilled in beam modifying/positioning, CBCT/kV/mV imaging, and chart checks,
• Knowledge of radiation safety and isolation precautions/PPE,
• Ability to perform patient/family teaching and use lift/transfer devices,

Additional Information

• Deliver external beam therapy and advanced treatment modalities including prophylactic and stereotactic treatments,
• Perform chart checks, billing for treatment types and devices, and treatment planning support,
• Respond appropriately using rapid response/code team protocols when needed,
• Scrub dress code with black pants and any top,
• Open to first-time travelers depending on prior experience,
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate,
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable as second reference; no coworker references accepted,
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6+ months away from the facility,
• Current employees ineligible for travel assignments at this health system,
• Required time off must be submitted with contract and limited to 7 days or less,
• Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed urgently upon contract signing
