Pay Rate: $33.00 - $35.00/hr

Work Location: Phoenix AZ 85021

Work Model: Hybrid; onsite 3 days per week (Tuesday-Thursday) and remote Monday & Friday.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4 PM.

Contract Length: 8 months. With possible extension

Role Overview

1. Land Agent I responsible for acquiring and supporting the management of land rights needed for utility construction, operation, maintenance, and protection of company facilities.
2. Supports right-of-way, easement, permitting, and land acquisition activities for utility infrastructure projects.
3. Works with property owners, agencies, and internal stakeholders to research, negotiate, and document land rights.

Core Responsibilities

1. Negotiate and acquire easements, permits, subordinations, releases, waivers, and abandonments required for utility projects.
2. Research property ownership, title information, and public records to determine required land rights.
3. Analyze engineering requirements and prepare supporting legal documents and applications.
4. Mitigate routine right-of-way encroachments and assist with protecting company facilities.
5. Support litigation research, land rights documentation, relocation projects, and internal business partners on land-related matters.
6. Utilize mapping and GIS tools to support land acquisition and right-of-way activities.

Required Experience (Non-Negotiable)

1. High School Diploma or GED required.
2. Demonstrated oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Experience with legal property descriptions, real estate law, and utility engineering/specifications.
4. Mathematics skills including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
5. Basic proficiency in a Windows computer environment.

Preferred / Valuable Background

1. Utility right-of-way (ROW) experience.
2. Utility real estate experience.
3. Experience conducting title research and interpreting legal descriptions.
4. Experience using Earth and ESRI/GIS products.
5. Associate's degree with emphasis in Real Estate preferred.
