Job Details Job Title: Physical Therapist Department: Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities Location: Macon, GA 31207 (additional locations may be possible) The Mercer Center for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Care clinic in Macon, GA is searching for a Physical Therapist. The center provides a welcoming space designed specifically for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, offering a wide range of services—including primary care, dental care, audiology, imaging, and physical, occupational, and speech therapy—to support patients' unique needs. Responsibilities Evaluate, design, and implement a patient’s plan of care. Create Plans of Care to increase, maintain, or restore function and minimize or prevent disability. Assist patients in reaching their maximum performance levels. Qualifications A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree or equivalent from an accredited program is required. Some directly related experience is preferred. Must possess certification and licensure, or be eligible to obtain certification and licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Georgia. Current BLS certification is required, or must be obtained within 3 months of employment. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Works calmly in a fast‑paced healthcare facility. Works independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care. Strong leadership skills, clinical reasoning, and assessment skills. Computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft programs and EHR systems. Implements actionable plans to meet established goals and objectives. Collaborates with coworkers, has strong interpersonal skills, and communicates effectively. Strong public speaking, problem‑solving, and critical thinking skills. Develops strong relationships with patients and their families and communicates with empathic skills. Ability to lift and support patients during therapy sessions as needed. Background Check Contingencies Criminal History Check. Salary and Benefits Starting salary for full‑time is $90,000 and is commensurate with experience. Relocation expenses are negotiable.
