About the Position

Job Title: Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST) Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Ambulatory OR CST Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours (06:30 - 17:00) Experience: 1 year License: SC or Compact License Certifications: BLS, radiation badge required Must-Have: Candidates should have experience in Ophthalmology, Ortho, ENT, GYN, GU, Endocrine, Surgical Oncology, Plastics, Robotics, and Total Joints. First-timers are not accepted. Candidates must be well-rounded in specialties that align with the caseload. Local candidates within a 60-mile radius will be considered, though non-local candidates are prioritized. Description: This position is for an Ambulatory OR CST. The shift is 10 hours, four days a week from 06:30 AM to 05:00 PM. Scheduled days off will depend on the needs of the department, but special requests will be considered if possible. Scheduled late shifts may occur a few times per month. On-call requirements are not necessary. There is a possibility of floating within the Periop facility based on facility needs. Candidates must possess a valid SC or Compact License and a BLS certification. A radiation badge needs to be provided by the parent company. The unit specializes in Orthopedics, Interventional Radiology, and GI procedures. All candidates must include any requests for time off at the time of submission, as approval will be based on facility needs. The facility allows for calling off one shift per two weeks. Candidates should be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment, providing safe and effective patient care. The pre/post RN will collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and OR nurses. The unit provides care for a variety of patients and services, including orthopedic cases and limited spine surgeries beginning in January. Standard OR equipment and various new technologies are used, such as integrated arthroscopy systems and specialized positioning equipment. All lab requirements must be completed promptly as outlined.
