Job Full Description We have an opening for a Warehouse/Delivery Driver position working at a wholesale supplier of industrial piping and plumbing materials located in Decatur, AL . This is an evaluation-to-hire opportunity with potential for full-time placement. *** THIS IS A PHYSICALLY DEMANDING JOB INVOLVING HEAVY LIFTING AND LOADING *** Skills/Qualifications
A valid Driver's License is required (Class D or higher).
A clean driving record (MVR) is required.
Must have previous experience driving a straight/box truck.
Previous experience operating a forklift is preferred but not required.
Must be capable of working an entire work week on a consistent basis.
Ability to pull and or push a hand truck or pallet jack for product unloading.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Ability to safely drive in adverse weather or road conditions.
Ability to lift 50 lb. unassisted.
Basic math & computer skills.
A high school diploma or GED is required. Duties/Responsibilities
Pulling, filling, packing and setting up orders for delivery or pickup.
Maintain the ability to determine the status of an order at any given time.
Follow any special instructions pertaining to an individual order.
Communicate positively with supervisors, sales staff, fellow workers and customers to coordinate deliveries/pick-up.
Operate a forklift safely and efficiently, maintain required certification, perform vehicle safety checks and report discrepancies to manager/supervisor.
Assist in keeping facility clean, neat, safe and operating efficiently.
Process returns accurately.
Follow all established policies and safety guidelines in a drug-free workplace.
Attend product knowledge meetings as required by management.
Present a neat and professional image.
Assist in keeping facility secure.
Maintain proficiency in computerized systems and other technologies as required.
Load trucks to ensure that no product is damaged in shipment.
Process and print paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
Follow company and OSHA Safety policies and procedures.
