Quick Facts: Location: Big Stone Gap, VA Start Date: 11/01/2026 End Date: 01/31/2027 Shift: 24-hour Call Shift (08:00 – 08:00) Hours/Week: 40+ hours (including clinic hours) Employment Type: Contract License/Certs: VA Medical License, BLS, DEA Experience: Minimum 1 year in Hematology/Oncology Pay & Benefits: Hourly Pay Rate: $5,070.00 Pay package discussed upon application Weekly pay via direct deposit Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2) Paid sick time in accordance with applicable laws Licensure, certification, and travel reimbursements (if applicable) Robust referral bonus program + dedicated support team What You’ll Do: Provide adult hematology and oncology care at a leading facility in Big Stone Gap, VA Support inpatient consultations and outpatient clinic responsibilities Cover one week of 24-hour call per month at multiple facility sites Collaborate with nursing staff and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care Maintain EMR documentation using Epic system Participate in tele-consultations during on-call shifts as needed Support infusion services and coordinate complex treatment plans What You Need: Board Certification in Hematology/Oncology VA medical license in hand before start date BLS certification Minimum 1 year of relevant clinical experience Ability to pass background checks (no settled or unsettled MP history) About the Assignment: This position involves floating between two sister facilities, providing adult hematology and oncology care while supporting both outpatient and inpatient needs. It includes 24-hour call coverage one week per month, patient volumes around 15 per day, and a strong team dedicated to your success. The primary location is JMH with additional coverage at SCCH, offering a mix of outpatient clinics, infusion centers, and inpatient services.
