GENERAL MAINTENANCE WORKER - Roads & Grounds

SUMMARYThe General Maintenance Worker in the Roads & Grounds Shop performs a variety of duties involving the general maintenance, preventative maintenance, repair, installation, and general upkeep of structures and equipment using practical skills and knowledge in a variety of trades.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:Assists in grounds maintenance, tree trimming/removal, fuel systems maintenance, sheet metal shop, vehicle mechanic shop and/or welding shop.Will be required to do SNAIR operations.May be required to help in other sections of the R&G Department.Employees are required to drive company vehicles on a Federal Installation.Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS , EDUCATION, and/or EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or GED required.Knowledge and practical skills in grounds maintenance, tree trimming/removal, fuel systems maintenance support, sheet metal assistance, vehicle mechanic assistance and/or welding shop assistance is preferred.Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.Must obtain and maintain a military gate pass.COMMUNICATION SKILLSMust have the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, managers and staff members.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
