Responsibilities Learning facilitator: use the educational design process to bridge knowledge, skills, and practice gaps identified through needs assessment. Change agent: actively work to transform processes at micro, meso, and macro system levels through inspiration, initiation, adoption, sustainment, and adaptation using project‑management and improvement processes. Mentor: contribute to the professional development of others and support life‑long learning as individuals develop across practice, professional, and educational settings. Leader: influence the interprofessional practice and learning environments, the NPD specialty, the profession of nursing, and healthcare. Champion of scientific inquiry: promote the generation and dissemination of new knowledge and use evidence to advance NPD practice, guide clinical practice, and improve patient care. Advocate for NPD specialty: actively support, promote, and demonstrate nursing professional development as a nursing practice specialty. Partner for practice transitions: support the transition of nurses and other healthcare team members across learning and practice environments, roles, and professional stages. Overall outputs of NPD practice are learning, change, professional role competence and growth, which ultimately lead to optimal patient care, population health, and protection of the public. The compensation range for the role is $55.2966 – $65.8639 USD hourly. Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with New York State law on salary transparency. The range does not include bonuses, incentive pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits. Compensation may vary by location, specialty, service line, experience, education, credentials, contract, or budget. Qualifications Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing required. Master’s degree in nursing, education, or post‑master’s certification in nursing education preferred. Minimum Experience: 3 years’ experience in nursing professional development in a hospital or academic setting, or demonstrated expertise in a clinically equivalent role. Required Certification/Registration: Current New York State registered nurse license. BLS/ACLS provider status required; BLS/ACLS instructor status required, or to be achieved within 1 year of hire. PALS provider status required for practitioners assigned to pediatric areas. ANCC Nursing Professional Development certification required, or to be achieved when eligibility criteria are met (4000 clinical practice hours). Physical Requirements: Travel to multiple facilities required. Working Conditions: Environmental demands: works in a clean, well‑lit, heated or ventilated facility. No routine exposure to hazards. Physical demands: ability to perform full range of motion; visual, aural acuity; hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment; can lift 30 lbs; withstand long periods of sitting, standing, or walking. Mental demands: ability to foster collaborative relationships, work well under pressure, organize and synthesize new information, prioritize tasks, critical thinking, analytical skills, flexibility; may work irregular hours including evenings or weekends.
