Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Overview Avento Health has partnered with a healthcare organization providing behavioral health services in a detention setting to identify a Licensed Psychologist for an onsite opportunity in Leavenworth, Kansas. This role is ideal for a psychologist who is comfortable working in a structured environment, collaborating across disciplines, and supporting individuals with complex behavioral health needs. Key Responsibilities Conduct psychological screenings and assessments through chart review, interviews, and clinical evaluation. Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and level of functioning. Provide counseling, crisis support, and interventions for individuals experiencing acute behavioral health concerns. Make regular rounds in segregation or other confined housing areas to assess adjustment and treatment needs. Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, physicians, social workers, security staff, chaplain services, education staff, and other team members to support coordinated care. Help evaluate behavioral changes, escalation triggers, and mental health status to support timely intervention. Support the delivery and coordination of psychological service programming within the facility. This is an onsite role in a secure detention setting. The psychologist will work directly with individuals in care and collaborate with clinical and operational staff throughout the facility. Required Qualifications Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited college or university. Current, unrestricted license to practice psychology in Kansas. At least 2 years of clinical experience, including 1 year in a comparable role. Ability to work onsite in a secure institutional environment. Preferred Qualifications Prior corrections or detention experience. Experience working with crisis intervention, behavioral health assessment, and interdisciplinary care teams. Skills and Abilities Strong psychological assessment and treatment planning skills. Knowledge of counseling theory and intervention techniques. Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Sound clinical judgment, professionalism, and documentation skills. Ability to remain calm and effective in high-acuity or fast-paced situations.
