Responsibilities The Educational Specialist coordinates and delivers educational instruction and programming for patients who require academic support due to their medical diagnosis. Build relationships with patients’ families and collaborate with clinical care teams to support each patient’s educational needs. Communicate and coordinate with schools to develop individualized instruction plans for patients. Provide direct instruction when appropriate and supervise hired instructors, tutors, and volunteers who support educational programming. Coordinate with community organizations and oversee educational activities in the classroom located in Walker’s Imaginarium. Track program metrics and ensure quality oversight of all educational services. Experience Qualifications 2 to 3 years of experience. (Required) The consultant shall be knowledgeable in the education and development of children with disabilities and/or chronic illnesses. (Preferred) Knowledgeable about current state and federal legislation and policies pertaining to educational services available for children ages birth through . (Preferred) Special Education experience. (Preferred) Certified teacher designation. (Preferred) Education Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development or a related field. Preferred: Master’s Degree in Education, Child Development or a related field. Skills and Abilities Interpersonal communications. Coordination of services. Excellent oral and written communication skills, computer and computer program skills. Coordination of events.
